Imagine a world in which individuals came together as a community, connected by heritage and political ideals. By coming together, the collective power is unmeasurable and strong. Perhaps such a world does not need to be imagined.

Friday evening Dugan Hall was graced with an exhibit showing the photographic works of 12 University of Massachusetts Lowell photographers. The works, all different, were submitted under the theme of “Risk, Chance, Adventure.”
The Friends of Photography, a group on campus comprised of students, alumni, faculty, and staff of UMass Lowell who are passionate about photography put the show together. “Risk, Chance, Adventure” is now showing in Dugan Hall and is one of many they have put on.

It took many people by surprise when public higher education students across the state came together with a unified voice in direct opposition to the proposed fee hikes. When they then actually influenced Governor Patrick’s distribution of federal stimulus money, several students saw this as only the first step in a growing battle for state funding for their schools.
