Jaci Moulton netted two goals, leading UMass Lowell to a 4-3 victory over Assumption College this past Saturday.
The River Hawks charged into the lead, scoring three quick strikes early on. Moulton put the ‘Hawks on the board first, scoring unassisted at 14:08. Freshman Liz Day scored her first career goal just three minutes and 15 seconds later, also unassisted.

Sept. 11 is a day to look back and remember those victims who were lost to the U.S. suicide terrorist attacks six years ago. That morning, 19 Islamic extremist hijackers unexpectedly crashed two planes into the World Trade Center in New York City and one into the Pentagon in Arlington County, VA. The World Trade Center collapsed, with thousands dieing as a result.

There has always been a special place in my heart for the western. Gun slingers always prove to be some of the greatest characters. They offer excitement but always turn out to demonstrate philosophies about humanity. I was of course ecstatic over the release of 3:10 to Yuma.

Streaks are made to be broken. And as the UMass Lowell volleyball team discovered, which side of the streak you are on makes all the difference.
Plagued by unforced errors and mental miscues, the River Hawks dropped a tough 3-2 game to Southern New Hampshire University; a team that they had defeated 27 straight times going back to the 1986 season.

Say hello to the newest hole in the college student’s pocket after tuition, fees, and books: printing. Lydon and O’Leary libraries are now charging 10 cents per page that is printed, a fee that has been implemented after research showed that many area state universities also charge for printing services.

The class of 2011 was formally welcomed to Umass Lowell at the 2007 Fall Convocation last Tuesday. Held in the Campus Recreation Center on East campus, the event featured guest speaker and co-founder of the “Life is Good” company, Bert Jacobs, as well as a special welcome from Chancellor Marty Meehan.

If you are a student at UMass Lowell with even the slightest interest in having a good time with a little bit of school spirit thrown in, boy are you in for a treat this year. The athletic department here at UMass Lowell is serving up some great ideas and new events for the students of UML.

This year has had quite a few action films. We got to see a fourth Die Hard, The Bourne Ultimatum, and even a western (3:10 to Yuma). However, these movies weren’t pure action. That’s where Shoot ‘Em Up comes in. Senseless violence and non-stop ridiculous action here we come.

Last Friday, UMass Lowell students gathered in the Campus Rec Center (CRC) on East Campus to watch four hilarious stand-up comedians take the stage as part of the College Humor Live Tour. The event was hosted by CAPA and was only a five-dollar charge. Before sitting down, students were patted down by a member of CAPA to enforce the “No weapons/cameras” rule.
